So since everyone seems so enamored with pirates all of a sudden, I've got a few campaign models to throw at you, depending on what exactly you're wanting to do:

Age of Adventure: Themed around some of the ideas from d20 Past, AoA would start with human characters with little to no magical abilities. This would closely resemble Pirates of the Caribbean in flavor and magic in-world. I would use a combination of the Skull and Bones ruleset and Swashbuckling Adventures. with a bit of Pathfinder thrown in for good measure.

Swashbuckling Adventures: This would be exactly what it sounds like. The Seventh Sea campaign setting with the d20 Swashbuckling Adventures ruleset, with all that comes with it.

Pirates of the Inner Sea: Entirely Pathfinder ruleset, with the Pathfinder campaign setting. Very little different from a typical PFRPG game, other than character builds.

Out of the three, I will be voting for Age of Adventure, but I can see potential with all three.

Addendum: I have discovered a nice adventure path for PFRPG that's pirate-oriented, so that'll make a Pirates of the Inner Sea campaign fairly easy on my end.

For those of you who weren't there on Saturday (read: most of you), here's the gist of what happened.

We decided on a compromise, thanks to the tie in the poll, rather than defaulting based on my pick. We are using a historical Caribbean setting with Pathfinder levels of magic and non-human species.

The group was press-ganged from Port Royal, Jamaica in 1661, to serve aboard the Wormwood under the command of the notorious pirate Captain Barnabas Harrigan.

After a few weeks, the group finds themselves assigned to the skeleton crew of a captured merchant ship, under the command of the Wormwood's cruel First Mate, Mr. Plugg. Rumors abound that Mr. Plugg was planning to abandon his duties and take the ship as his own, not to mention killing off problem sailors (like the PCs), but any plans of disappearing with the ship were dashed when the ship ran aground just off of a small island after being attacked by a group of grindylows. In the aftermath, it was discovered that two sailors are missing, including one of the PC's friends, the cleric Sandara Quinn.
