| Since Zarken doesn't check his email, I thought I'd go ahead and post this on the website.
We're looking to have a game floating around for when we don't want to do the not!Kingmaker game. I've come up with a list of ideas, and I'll expand on them should I come up with something new.
Format will be Game Type (System): Explanation.
As always, don't be afraid of unfamiliar systems. If I can figure it out, anyone can. | |

| Star Explorers (Alternity/Star*Drive Campaign Setting): The players will serve as the bridge crew of a newly-commissioned exploration vessel under the banner of the Galactic Concord's Concord Survey Service. The Unknown Regions (Star Wars Saga/Old Republic): The players will be the crew of a small Republic Survey Corps long-range exploration vessel tasked with mapping the Unknown Regions. Zombies! (Cortex or nWoD or All Flesh Must Be Eaten): The players will be survivors of the recent zombie apocalypse, residing around Freedom City on the American east-coast. Heroes are Made, Not Born (Pathfinder): The players will be residents of a small rural village that finds itself in a crisis. The heroes will start as 0-level NPC classes, and will gain their first class level during play. Legends of the West (d20 Past or Sidewinder or Aces and Eights): The players will be gunslingers, gamblers, etc. in a dime store novel Wild West. The Wasteland (d20 Apocalypse or Cortex or Alternity Gamma World): The players will be members of the surviving human race well after the apocalypse that ended civilization as we know it. The Morrow Project (Cortex or The Morrow Project (God help you.): The players will be part of Morrow Project Recon Team MO-R-02, based out of Willard, Missouri, and tasked with reviving civilization after nuclear apocalypse. - My Opinions:
I like the Star Explorers setup, and I already have a campaign prepared for it, as I did research for this game a while back.
Alternatively, I don't think that the Unknown Regions game would go too well. Star Wars doesn't lend itself well to exploration games. There's too much established about what's out there. Even the exploration examples were things like "You could go to Endor hundreds of years before it's discovered in the movies! Your medical droid could be the reason the Ewoks thought C-3PO was a god!
Zombies! is appealing because I'm lazy. I'd prepped the game to be run via forum, so it's all set and ready to go. However, I still think it'd be better executed as an online game.
Legends of the West is one that I'd like to try. The d20 Modern and Sidewinder versions would be relatively simple, but the A&E version would be very different from anything we've ever done. Could be fantastic, could be a fucking disaster.
The Wasteland would be pretty much what you'd expect. I'm not really excited about it, but it'd be fairly easy to run.
It'd be interesting to see how everyone would rework for the Morrow Project, and I'd like to get that game going again. We'd have to start over, obviously, but I think it could be a lot of fun.
